It's hard to believe Mother's Day is just a week away. Are you looking forward to the holiday, or dreading it? Chances are you're feeling a bit of both.
Here are some tips to keep you organized for the big weekend:
Update your Mother's Day flower pricing. Pricing increases over Mother's Day - so make sure you don't undersell yourself.
Have a chart of costs and give guidelines for designers to follow. An easy way to lose money quickly is to have a designer overstuff arrangements and not account for it in your pricing.
Start processing your Mother's Day flowers ahead of time. Get the hardiest flowers and greens into your shop during the beginning of the week and the delicate stems closer to the holiday.
Start greening vases now, so flowers can be added later.
Design Mother's Day orders 1-3 days ahead of time and place them in a cooler, so they can be tagged and sent out quickly. You can arrange the orders by price to help you stay organized. Pre-made recipes will help you run a more efficient holiday.
Organize your deliveries by location and assign drivers to each route.
Consider hiring someone to manage the drivers and deliveries, so you get orders out quickly on your high volume days.
While all flower orders are important, give priority to your direct customers and house accounts. Fulfill wire orders after your regular customers, as these are less profitable for your shop.
Stay positive - a winning attitude is contagious.
Bring in treats for your employees. A well fed staff is a happy staff!
You got this!
“A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend.”
