The on again off again tariffs wars have wholesalers rethinking their businesses and turning to locally grown flowers. Especially during the growing season in New England, many designers peruse local flower farms to find inspiration for their wedding designs.
Having seen this trend in floral buying, this is precisely one of the reasons we started Shelland Flower Farm. Adjacent to our facility here in Milford, Shelland allows us to supplement our imported product with home grown flowers cut daily from our farm.
Now in our third season of growing, Shelland Flower Farm has been providing wedding designers throughout New England with a host of locally grown product picked daily and ready for their wedding customers. On a weekly basis, we also provide flowers to customers through the CT Floral Collective.
Below is a September wedding done almost entirely with flowers grown on our farm. Here is the Pinterest inspiration board from the bride:
We were proud to provide almost every stem from our fields. The selection from our farm included: blush feather celosia, chocolate and white cosmos, white scabiosa, blush lisianthus, assorted dahlias - cafe au lait, boom boom white, caro white and silver years, white anemone, and queen anne's lace.
